About This Rug

These wonderful Suzani (Souzani) designs trace their origins back several centuries to the great folk art of Uzbekistan. Traditionally woven in embroidery construction, these designs are now woven in a durable and hardwearing Soumak build that will hold up for generations (see "Soumak "). Their cheerful designs are appealing and suitable in a myriad of settings, from traditional to contemporary. Handwoven in India of 100% New Zealand wool.
