About This Rug

This wonderful Suzani (Suzani), or "Sun Palace Soumak Rug," traces its origins back several centuries to the great folk art of Uzbekistan. Traditionally woven in embroidery construction, these Suzani motifs are now constructed in a durable and hardwearing Soumak weave that creates a rich texture, and will hold up for generations (see "Soumak "). With its playful, happy design, this area rug is appealing and suitable in a myriad of settings, from traditional to contemporary. Handwoven in India of 100% New Zealand wool on a cotton warp.
