About This RugBottlecaps was designed by Utah artist Laurie Downing. This rug was painstakingly hand-knotted in Nepal by Tibetan weavers in a fine weave (100-knot construction of thinner but denser wool than our 60-knot rugs), using handspun, hand-carded Tibetan wool (see "What is a Tibetan Rug?"). One-hundred seventy-six repeating color motifs are inlaid on a rich black background to create a dramatic and stunning rug. Bottle Caps (Black) was the recipient of the Magnificent Carpets Award at the National Oriental Rug Show.
This design is made with red, taupe, and eggplant backgrounds as well. The black version is available in 4', 6', 9' and 11' rounds. All natural fiber. Absolutely no chemical additives.
