Kissing Tigers (Camel)
About This Rug
You may already be familiar with the Tiger motif in Tibetan rugs. (See What is a Tibetan rug?) This one is especially appealing: playful, a bit of trickery (is he/she seeing himself in a mirror, or playing with a sibling as cats do?) The wonderful rich colors are set off at either end with a Cloud Band border. I would use this rug in a situation where it’s not trying to “fit in,” but has a place of its own: e.g., a kitchen, bathroom, entry. (See Using a good rug in a kitchen or bathroom). Handknotted of beautiful handspun, handcarded Tibetan wool in a 60-knot weave, we can make this charming rug in any size you’d like. If you’d like to check it out before ordering a larger size, ask about seeing a 2 x 3.
