Mamluk
About This Rug
This soumak rug is an amazing rendition of a Mamluk rug, which were made during the Egyptian Mamluk Dynasty of the 15th-16th centuries. The detail in this soumak version is amazing. The color palatte would work well in many homes of today (and offices—we can get these in very large sizes). These soumaks are also remarkably well-priced, and are available in standard sizes, runners, and by custom order in any size. Soukmaks are a type of flat weave, but much sturdier than the more common kilims.
