About This Rug

Tiger dominated rugs were originally created in Tibet in the 19th and early 20th Centuries for monks in order to protect them while they meditated and to convey the sense of awe and wonder experienced on witnessing a tiger. In addition to being extremely decorative, these rugs appeal to many westerners as well, bringing a bit of Tibetan culture into our homes. Our tiger rugs are made with the best wool: 100% Tibetan, high-altitude, lanolin-rich; handspun, hand carded and handwoven.
