About This Rug

These happy, appealing Suzani (Souzani) designs trace their origins back several centuries to the great folk art of Uzbekistan. Traditionally woven in embroidery, these designs are now made in a durable and hardwearing Soumak construction that will hold up for generations (see "Soumak "). Appealing to the eye and suitable in a myriad of settings, from traditional to contemporary, they are handwoven in India of 100% New Zealand wool -- completely natural fibers with no chemical additives.
